Of course one could mix this up on their own but this is a super convenient way to get it already done for you! I will tell you that you need to be careful NOT to breathe in the powders - ask me how I know! It will also make you sneeze if you get it up your nose. It is very easy to use and my chickens eat their food just the same whether I have added the Herb Chili Mix or not so they don't seem to notice...so that's good. As far as value for the money, I think it is acceptable if you are looking for something easy and convenient. This is a great mix of herbs to help chickens be healthier naturally without affecting eggs. I have used a product like this before, this Nestcare Naturals one is a little more expensive per ounce but has pretty much the same ingredients and works well. It is very easy to use, you just mix in with their food. My hens are jerks and won't eat crumble or pellets, so I make them a scratch blend to mimic the macros they need and this powder is easily mixed into that. I say powder loosely because ether are some big chunks in there and no the chickens will not eat a large chunk of red pepper, they leave it behind, but they are getting enough of the smaller particles and powder to make a difference. The package says formulated in London with globally source ingredients, so not really sure where it is made honestly. This coupled with it being more expensive than the last brand I used ;ed me to taking one star off.
